Clarins

OVERVIEW

Internal project management system for store project managers.

AUDIENCE

Clarins store project managers.

ROLE

I was the UI designer for this project in a team that was made up of 3 developers and 1 project manager.

PROBLEM

The store project management department in Clarins wanted to improve their day-to-day productivity. Many of their tasks can be automated via software solutions custom-designed for them based on their workflow.

Data in screens below have been replaced with dummy data for privacy reasons.

Login screen for staff.

Home screen showing stores in Asia Pacific region.
There are 4 modules in the system, namely Regional Dashboard, Project, Stores and Activity Log.

Users can zoom into map based on selected country, to see only stores in that country.

Users can drill down further to street-level view.

The Project module shows a list of all available projects, which the user can filter further by clicking on the little red boxes next to each column’s heading.

Upon clicking a project in the table, a widget will show up, allowing the user to perform operations on that project.

Each time when the user adds a New Project, they will only have to import the company-specific project PDF files, and the system will fill in the rest of the fields, by reading and pulling data from the PDF file.

Users can set the location of the store via drag and drop, and it will be updated back into the main map on the home screen.

Each project has fixed milestones. Users can also add sub-milestones for more detailed breakdowns.

The Stores module shows a gallery of completed Projects, which management staff can click on to get high-level details at a quick glance.

The Activity Log module is available only to the Super Admin. It provides insights on users’ behaviour, which we can use to further refine the system.

CONSTRAINTS

We had 2 months to deliver the initial phase of the app. While it is still not considered too challenging from a design perspective, the programming part is extremely time-consuming.

CONCLUSION

This is an ongoing project. Now that the initial phase has been delivered, we are constantly monitoring and refining the system based on users’ feedback. The savings in terms of time per day can be up to 2 – 3 hours as much of the data can be processed by the algorithm in the system. We will be adding new features and modules in the near future.
